After Orgeon repeatedly forgets to show up to compete against Illinois for greatest State in the Union, Illinois claims the championship all for itself. It turns out that Oregon had smoked too much pot to be able to make it to the competition. Chicago immediately celebrated with riots that brought out the city police in full force.
So, until next year, when hopefully we don’t get so bored with spending hours writing long explanations of the state contests that we don’t actually finish the tournament, please take some time to appreciate all of the hard work that Illinois had to do to get to what is surely a seminal moment in the state’s history.
