After seeing the picture on the left, the general consensous is that yes, Paul did in fact die last night. However, as the game wore on, the accouncers made repeated references to Paul Pierce making plays and scoring points. Surely this could not be the same Paul Pierce that is pictured to the left. Or is it? Did Paul go to the locker room, realize that he was faking it, and then come back out? No one in the amount of pain pictured to the left should be doing anything athletic for at least 3 weeks. So what happened, did Paul Pierce come back from the dead to play the 4th quarter, or was an imposter sent out that was actually better than Paul at basketball? The truth is, it was him.
This is a man was once stabbed 11 times in the face, neck, and back, and lived to talk about it. So it is hard to call him an over-reactor when he has 11 stab wounds to his credit. However, I have once been stabbed by a pencil and by a hockey skate in the chest, yet you don’t see joeg, joepa, and rsand carrying me away from my computer and blogging responsibilities. So, since we are comparing apples to apples, it seems obvious that Paul needs to toughen up a bit and keep his initial reaction a little bit more on the calm side. I think rsand summed it up best with: “How about something on Paul Pierce’s ridiculous display of drama last night. He was carried off the court and played the final quarter and a half. I understand if it was game seven and he wanted to add some drama, but game one is a bit much.”
There were reports that an avid Celtics / Boston fan started crying and saying it was the apocalypse when this all went down last night. His name was Danny. Or his name was any other single Boston fan. It is hard to question their diehardness, but when people really start dying, then I think there might be a problem. The East Coast fans/media is its own discussion, one that will inevitably be scripted by the fine writers of tgiab.com in the near future.

Remember when you were 3 and you really hated getting shots? Sometimes it even took two or three doctors and your mom to hold you down as you kicked, screamed and cried? That’s what Paul Pierce looks like in that picture.
